Double Posting

I could understand if the thread sat for a few days or a week or something
But every time I see someone double post it's within 15 minutes of the original post
That's just obnoxious and unnecessary - I don't know about you guys but pretty much every place I've been online has considered double posting rude.

True. I've refrained from doing that because, like you said, every other online community I've been on view double posting as rude.

I saw that people were doing that here, and it seemed weird to me, but I didn't think much of it because there appeared to be no backlash from other members.

Well there is backlash, sometimes, a little. Mainly from the mods.

Double posting is very rude in my eyes, its close to being slightly offensive when I see the odd triple post or a couple doubles in a row.

I double post sometimes because I get paranoid. I feel like if there's something I missed out on my post, someone may have already read the post over the last few minutes and if I edit it they'll miss the bit I add so I feel I need to write another post. It seems odd for such a short space of time, but that's what I think.

BTW, I've never double posted on this forum though ;D

Agreed - If it's a major change or much time has passed from the prior post, it's acceptable. But just correcting or adding something minimal gets on my nerves somewhat.

I only double post, on a sleepy thread, and it's usually not even relevant to my last post [though relevant to the thread]

I never really cared for people who double post
just for those that triple post

If you guys don't stop derailing threads, then I will use the banhammer. Stop double posting, or taste shocking Mjölnir spam-justice to the face. We are very lax about the PHP coding and privileges on this site, but if it's deemed necessary, we will enforce common sense in very inconvenient ways. Don't ruin it for everyone else.
