Artists' Block

So basically, I get into about the middle of any song I'm working on, and one of two things happen--

A) I don't know what to do with it
B) I think it sucks and try to fix the flaws I see, but instead I end up ruining the song.

Have you guys ever encountered any of these situations? If so, what would be the best course of action to 'combat' it? It really sets me off from trying to produce, and yet at the same time I want to be able to make a song so badly...

Story of my life. Generally what I do is let it go for a week. I totally ignore working on music (or at least the genre I am blocked on). Maybe I'll read a book or play a video game. If I come back to it the next week and I still can't do anything with it, I'll either A: tell a band member to work on it if it is a song for my band, or B: ask someone if they want to collab and let them deal with it :D

I hope that helped slightly.

When I get stuck I start a new project. I have between 15 and 20 projects that getting "aged" if you have a deadline that's a horrible thing to do. I just get Ideas that won't fit the song I'm working on all the time.
Talk to me! I'm on Skype and Steam by the same name (and capitalization)
(you can call me, but I don't have a camera)

This right here. Though it's more in the hundreds for me. Sometimes I just go back and listen to all the ideas I was having and it can take me north of an hour.

As with artistic brainfreeze...
Can't help you. You just get blocks. You need to walk away and start fresh later. <--Protip

This happened to me for awhile I'm just now breaking out of it. Stress causes it for me. Too many personal issues, equals no creative thoughts.
