extreme levels of gak were involved.
King Sombra got a can of it shoved down his throat, and we all know dat shit is poisonous or something. I mean look at it, it's like stupid rubber or some kind of arsenic latex chewing gum. Half of those kids in the commercial must've just straight up died. Of sheer shock. Also poisoning, but more so shock.

I'm still waiting for the episode where there's a bunch of Pinkie Pies, and they're all bouncing around like Gak. You know that one was ripped right out of a fanfiction. One of the awesome ones. Also PinkiexPinkie is now confirmed.

I just finished the episode, and I can sum up my opinion of it in one word.

Okay, maybe not necessarily a word, but my opinion stands. They took no time to develop the character of the villain (I think he said like 6 or 7 words in the whole 40-minute long special), and this "1,000 years ago" thing is has been tried quite a bit, don't you think.

It wasn't bad, just not very good, in my opinion.

The episodes were so deliberately vague with the entire history of the Crystal Empire, it was almost as if they're begging us to fill in the blanks. Fanfiction writers are furiously typing with one hand as we speak.

It wasn't bad, just not very good, in my opinion.

Because the focus of the episode was about the main characters, not the problem. I mean, the whole thing was a freaking TEST to Twilight. I remember Joshscorcher said that Season 2 focused too much on the individual characters and not enough on their interaction. This shows that hopefully that has changed.

Each of the characters had been fine tuned and polished in this episode. (Especially Rarity and Applejack) Hell, even Spike had a part. Spike. When was the last time he did anything?

This episode was out of this world. And I know I'm not just high from excitement because I barely even wanted to watch it, but I forced myself to. And even then I took breaks to dick around on youtube and stuff. But when it was all over, I realized what I had seen.

Also, when Spike looked through the door, I really teared up.

It was pretty good. But a lot of the voice acting sounded lazy and apathetic, and the antagonist was not even a character. He had absolutely no development, and only two or so lines in the entire two-part special. We still know nothing about King Sombra, what his motive is, or where he came from. And we don't even know how the kingdom returned. Then, even after it was saved, who will be the new monarch? I really wished the story was explained more. It was good, and I enjoyed it, but it could have been better, especially after the delay.

Twilight annoyed me the most. Some parts sounded almost if her lines were whispered, others were emptied out of emotions. Most of the VA was good as usual, but there was a lot of improvement room left in those 2 eps.

I wonder if they'll decide to go back 1000 years and take a look at what the hell's been going on.
On January 1000 years ago, Sombra took over! We threw him in prisonment on March.
April 1, 1000 years ago, Discord came about and created chaos in equestria! We petrified him August.
October, 1000 years ago my dear sister got too jelly as the ponies gave me most of the credit and she attacked me. I banished her in December.

Unless they plan on adding more villains, sums it up about right, but damn 1000 years ago was one hell of a year.

Um....well the episode was pretty cool. Sombra was more interesting but wasn't developed enough so....honestly he kind of reminds me of Aku. Yeah. Did anyone else thought, "OMG AKU IS A PONY!!!"

Long ago in the land of Equestria, I, King Sombra who's heart is as black as night, unleashed an unspeakable evil on Crystal Empire!
But the foolish alicorn ponies wielding the elements of harmony stepped forth to oppose me! Before I was banished in the Arctic North, I placed a curse on the crystal empire which made it VANISH into thin air, along with my body within the shadows!

I think that Celestia just says 1,000 years ago because she's rounding up, or she can't remember the exact date of when the event occurred. Think about it, if you were as old as she was, would you remember the exact date of the defeat of the Roman empire?
