Cheerilee teaching a class with a decent number of changelings in it would be cute. The antics they could pull, especially if you keep a few of the fillies (Diamond Tiara, for one) in the mix, with the cuteness of fillies and young changelings...potential.

Shipping Cheerilee with one? Well, generic changelings are just background characters, no real personality, and, if you did introduce one, seems like you'd be better off pairing them with something other than the school teacher. And the Queen? To get her to lower herself to a mere commoner, a nobody, would just feel contrived.

You know i thought about it some more and even if you think in the finale that the ponies won, the mane 6 lost (they didn't save the day), and there's this huge problem of all those changelings that just got BRIEFLY exiled but not killed. It's not like Shining Armor is going to hang around now and keep up that bubble for Canterlot. When there's so many changelings and they can all morph how the hell are they not gonna come back and be a problem again?

This is relevant to the thread to the thread, because it has changelings. It takes place in an alternate timeline where the Canterlot Wedding was postponed indefinitely after they discovered that Cadance was a changeling. The changelings end up playing a major role in this story, and he gives solid explanations for a lot of the things that people complain about, like the disproportionate male/female Ponyville ratio...

If you have time, please check it out. He's always wanted to be a Professional Novellist, but he stopped writing after school. When I showed him Friendship is Magic, it got him writing again, and at the rate things are going, this one story's probably going to be about 100,000 words in it's completion.

Regular changelings shouldn't even be shipped by anyone. It's pretty much implied that they only have a hivemind intelligence, thus not being able to be smart or do anything outside of what the queen wants. This bothers me when I see people RP otherwise or say otherwise. *shrugs*

I'd like to dissaprove this post.

I believe they have an intelligence far beyond their queen's will. They are all still her Spawn. But I think that their minds are full of their own personal cunning and sense of dark, practical Humor. As if they are the actual raised children of Chrysalis (like if her poshness and overpowered genius rubbed off on her children/Subjects)(gotta listen to Mom :p) . Not just hypnotised Insects bound to the will of their queen.

I personally love the idea of them being hive-minded drones, but I would also like to believe that they can "imprint" whatever personality traits fit their task, be it prankster, charmer, lowly drudge, nobility, etc. There can be an individual capacity for decision-making and intelligent thought processes, but the all-consuming urge is to serve the Queen and feed.

Of course, maybe this wouldn't apply to all changelings, but rather more "evolved" members of the species. Whatever the case, I like to think of them as being similar to Fetches from the Fey mythos in a sense.

For Example my OC, much like me, is a Joker with a twisted sense of cynical humor. He's bouncy, very much 'Mad' If you will.

He wears Top hats and circular glasses. Has Center-Parted black Hair with the ends highlighted blue. And a pair of purple eyes. Contrary to the usual 'Blue'
