Sidechaining?

Postby CrimsonEpilogue » 04 Nov 2011 17:53

I'm trying to make a Jump Up DnB track on Reason 4, I've been using a tutorial, but when it touched upon sidechaining the bass synth, I got lost. I followed the tutorial exactly, but the sound wasn't right, when I play my loops, the bass sounds uneven and dirtier than it should. I've tried different patterns with the sidechaining kick, and messing with the thereshold, but no dice, I just can't figure it out.
Can anypony help me?

Oh, and this is the tutorial I've been using,

Regards,
Crimson.

Try messing with ratio and release time

Bartekko knows all about sidechain level automation.
