How does one create vocals such as this.

Postby Motivfs » 24 Apr 2013 02:52

At 0:08, I want to imagine that it's not someone speaking, rather, ShockOne himself used some sort of vocal plugin/device.

Considering I hear vocals very similar to this alot, especially in Drum & Bass, I know some of which are just ripped off of videos/samples, but others like this, in which he even says his name "ShockOne" I imagine was created somehow?

I could be wrong, wondering if anyone knew.

Also, the album is amazing.

I'm guessing he commissioned someone to do it, actually.
If it helps though, Pendulum actually rips most of their monologues from audiobooks.

Wow this guy is good let me just download that album now

Also, on further research turns out he did commission a VA by the name of Corey Burton, who did the voice of Soundwave in Transformers in the 80s apparently

You need to have a good VA do this first, then EQ then multiband compress the hell out of it, to taste.

Pretty typical for in-yer-face voice processing at radio stations, for example.

Alright, that's too bad I was hoping it was some sort of plugin that modified his voice.

Still, epic voice, I would love to commission someone to this type of stuff. Thanks guys.

Sure, I was just curious and kind of wanted to grab the answer now to my question haha, so I'm not planning on commissioning someone just yet, but atleast I can have an easy time finding that person.

Just PM me it whenever you can, thanks.
