Looking for Mixing tips

Postby KillerAmp » 18 Jan 2013 21:40

hey guys, ive been practicing music a lot recently, not really uploading as much, but eh whatever.
Anyway i've been looking for some tips as far as mixing and mastering go.
Im trying to get an overall clarity to the track, so that the sub, and the instruments, and the vocals, and the drums, all have their own spot, and fit together in the mix

prime exapmle would be in anything by sixoflazers:

i've got some grasp on it, but would like tips to really clear up the track, and make everything snap into place.
Thanks all

Have you taken a look at this? http://mylittleremix.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5770

Also, if you share some information about your song(s), or perhaps post it on MLR, it would really help the lot of us to give you some tips and advice that are specific for your particular mix.

Check out this mixing guide. 56 pages long, but well worth it to read. I would definitely check it out if I were you.

Actually amazing for anyone who doesn't have a good stereo setup to mix properly, or a car (me).

And I definitely encourage you to read that 56 page mixing guide, read it all, pure gold, that you will have troubling finding around the internet.

from what i've looked at and read so far, here's what i got from a dubstep point of view. I defiantly feel like it sounds less muddy in the lower frequencies than my other stuff.
Ill have to check out that post Motivfs sent, and the rest of the 50+ page mixing bible lol.
