Kontakt 5 - FL studio - Forced library reload all the time?

Postby Senjan » 02 Jan 2013 05:41

For whatever reason, EWQLSO doesn't stay in my Kontakt Library after I swap project / restart FL studio, even if every other library does. This never happens on my laptop, however. And funny thing is: Both computers use the same versions of FL studio, Kontakt and all Libraries.

So why does this only ocurr on the stationary? The only diffrence I can see is that everything is installed on the C drive on the laptop, and the D drive on the stationary.

Any ideas?

Is the library legal or did you pirate it?

I'm no tech genius, so take this advice with a grain of salt.

You mean a library reload as in you have to press "add library" to get it to reappear? In that case, it might have something to do with the system registry. Maybe a re-install would help, but I don't have much to go off of here. Just an idea.

Also, senntenial mentioned piracy, which can sometimes be an issue. But, seeing as the library is working on at least one of your systems, it shouldn't have much to do with legit-vs-pirate, but anything's possible, I suppose.

Well, he could have pirated the library from a different source on his computer than on his laptop, if he chose that way.

But, I would have to say that this might not be a problem that we could definitely fix for sure. If you try the methods already listed here, and it's still having this problem, try asking around on the NI forums if you obtained the copy of Kontakt and the library legally. I'm sure that they have a solution to the problem, and there are people who I'm pretty sure work for NI on the NI forums (image that :P) So they should have an answer for you if we can't fix it.

Also, by re-install, I mean a re-install of the library, not Kontakt. If that still doesn't fix it, then you may have a conflict between 2 libraries, though this is unlikely unless you implemented a custom library or something. Still possible, however.

What I would do is, do a little research on how kontakt libraries are implemented, then check around in the registry for conflicts, etc. (careful with that stuff, though!).

That's most of all the advice I can give. Good luck!

Hey guys! Thanks for the replies, and sorry for being so late with my own.

It is pirated, indeed. Otherwise I would have gone straight to the NI forums first and foremost (No offense to you guys, haha).
I didn't really dare to go there now due to it being torrented and all, and also I didn't really know if it was safe discussing torrents.

But anyway, seeming like that is fine, it is the exact same torrent as I used on my stationary. The absolute only diffrence that I can come to think of is where I installed it: to the D drive, instead of C.

Now I spoke with mr.captain (Fluff) about this, and he thought that something might be wrong with my D drive. I do recall that it has been a little messy recently, complaining that there is not enough space to finish the install, even though I have over 2 TB of space on it.

That could be the problem, likely. I will have to look into it and see how I can solve this "glitch"

Ah, yes exactly. The library works just fine, but I have to keep re-adding it into Kontakt. If I don't, the samples already loaded in the newly opened project are set to "DEMO" and will stop playing after a couple of minutes. What's the deal with that?

Anyway, I'll get back here once I managed to fix this "missing space" fault. If you know how to solve this, even better! :D

Haha, I adore this forum.

Still, Senjan, on a more serious note, the discussion of piracy here is generally frowned upon, I believe. I, and hopefully the whole of the forum, can still provide technical support, however.

Ey shaddap you ;)

Also @Omnom Yeahhh I figured that much, which is why I hesitated with saying anything to encourage it.
But since I was asked, should I lie? All necessary information is needed to find a solution, is it not? ;)

Anyway, I'm gonna see if I can get the error message off the D drive.
So far no other progression or hints of what could cause the problems found.

Well I'll be damned! After trying a lot of diffrent stuff, fiddling around with the D drive, swaping over to C, investigating the temp etc. etc. (I did a little of everything), what ultimately solved the problem was a FOURTH reinstall.

I have no idea why it worked this time...but it did.
So yeah, I guess that's all! Thank you for the aid on this weird journey! ^^

Sometimes it's registry junk left over from other installs. I had this problem with Nexus a while back, and cleaning up my registry solved everything, and they've not come up since.

If it does start happening again, go and grab a free registry clean up tool if you don't have one already. There's a plethora of them out there.
