Running Windows VSTs on a Mac

Postby Acsii » 27 Sep 2012 18:57

Hey guys I just got a mac you see, and i have heaps of Windows only VSTs (Tweakbench etc.). So I was wondering if anyone had any programs that can port windows vsts so ableton can read them on the mac... I have Wine install if you were wondering. I was trying to use WACVST but can't get it to work.
Cheers

Most common plugin's have Mac variants nowadays, but for some you're going to have to go through some trial and error. There are some adapters you can try made by FXPansion, and a few free alternatives. Also check out VFX

Aside from the Tweakbench plugins, what else are you trying to run?

buying a PC is the obvious solution, haha (:

Have you tried dual booting Windows 7 together with your Mac OS? Ableton is also on PC, so you can still use it.

Transitioning is always an issue, but unlike PC devotees, people who switch to Mac do so for the many benefits.

There are lots of equivalent plugins too if the one you use isn't compatible. Check KVR.

We aren't starting a Mac vs PC thread are we? There are plenty of reasons to use either one.

Dual booting could be an option, but only if you like booting a whole different OS each time you want to produce.
