As for making not repetitive melodies, that's up to you really, I don't know what to say about that, it seems that's what most people struggle with when making music (other than the mixing/mastering). Remember, it's Drum & Bass. Not House/Trance.
Also are you doing old D&B? (Loops/Reese basses) Or new style D&B, which is more Kick/snare, arpeggios/plucks and gritty basses with lots of samples/FX?

Because there doesn't seem to be proper transitioning it sounds basically like a mish-mash of sounds, the melodies are fine, they could be a little more unique but I won't judge cause I get caught all the time with melodies I love and have this irk to not change them because of it (I usually do that at the end before I mix and master to make it more different).
You got the idea of your song there, basically what you need now is better drum breaks for transition and a few FX which shouldn't be hard to throw in, maybe tweak with the release/cutoff ENV a bit to make it happen because even though it's not Dubstep, Drum & Bass still has drops, and they still need to have a bit of a punch when that happens.
Once again, I'm not an expert of producing, but this is just what I get when I make D&B, since it's my one and only genre I love.
