Archie's Pad/Pluck Synth?

Postby digitalbrony » 04 Aug 2012 20:18

How would I make a kind of sound similar to the pad/pluck Archie always uses?

It's actually pretty simple to make. All it is is a supersaw with a pretty short decay to get that stabbyiness. Supersaws are pretty much multiple saw waves slightly detuned from each other. Most synth vsts have a unison or unisono to do exactly that. Set it to 6 or so voices, and use a slight detune on it. Then it's just whatever melody or so in multiple octaves.

In my case, I used saw and square waves. Whipped this up in like 5 minutes. =]

Yep, the main sound you hear is a supersaw. He tends to layer bells and other sounds too, especially on the first one.
