To make chip tune, I take a bag of plain (lays) chips and start chewing on them in a certain rhythm while recording it.

No, don't cry,

You can have my chips, all of it! Not just doritos either.

I don't have any chiptune specific software at the time, all I use is FL studio currently, but back when I used to make chiptune (they were crappy, so dont ask) I used LMMS.

So do you use LSDJ? or famitracker? What do you know about them, I might download famitracker later on.

I use LMMS.
It comes with a nice Gameboy Plugin (Freeboy) and a C64 Plugin (which I don't use because he isn't that great ), the Tripple Oscelator can easily make a nice Sounding Square-Waves. And the BitInvader Plugin you can make a bunch of Waves and watchout that they are all 8-bit, or 16, or 4 XD

Other than that I use the NES VSTi , which is kinda amazing, (if LMMS wouldn't crash all the time)
and I have "Unknown 64" (or something like that) which is a far superior C64-Sound maker, but a hell of a lot more difficult (I can't work with it).

I usually end up using samples (I got a Ton of C64 Samples)

and this amazing bundle of generated [url?http://www.noizefield.com/wp/2011/12/07/free-samples-noizedrumz-vol-2-nanoloop-for-ni-maschine-ni-kontakt/]Gameboy Samples[/url].

After that I make them like every other song in LMMS (maybe using some little Tricks to make interesting noises).

But as you can hear in my Chiptunes, I'm not the Greatest Chiptune maker.

(and for really good sounding Chiptunes I reccomend rackers anyway, they have the best sound and are only as restricted as the systhem they are emulating)
I make different kinds of music, often get told that It sounds like something for a Video Game because I make only instrumentals, never had a chance to make music for an actual game. I would love to.

I don't do a lot of chiptune stuff, but I'm kinda interested in it. I use Renoise (and sometimes REAPER) with a buncha VSTs (ymVST, Famisynth, Unknown, Pure6581, 38911, pooBoy2, ProtoPSG), and sometimes I'll use cheesy old soundfonts (or even old school .XI instruments, because Renoise can load them), possibly with some resampling/bitcrushing.

I've experimented with FamiTracker in the past, I just DLed it again to take another look.
