Postby Kiwibomb » 15 Jul 2012 19:21

It doesn't sound that bad but imo if you want it to get into the "progressive house" genre or well atleast make it a lot more dance floor, club and DJ friendly I'll suggest you let the song start with drums for DJ reasons so they can count the bpm and/or fit them with other songs. And also get hold of a chord progression that's a lot more catchy.

If you want to go the other way for something ambiental I'll say just keep making melodies and a maybe a few drums but not too powerful and let them progress through out teh structure automate volume etc.

As of how it sounds like right now it really makes me think of the type of music you would hear in a sci-fi game or movie or something.
I don't have time for fancy signatures.

I'm more aiming for something dance-y, but with a sort of ambient feel to it. Hard to explain what I exactly want xD

Kyoga wrote:as an addendum, you want your chord changes to be there, but they shouldn't be the driving force in the song. Instead try to incorporate world sounds (whether they're synthesized or not) so that your listener incorporates a response to it immediately. These sounds are the ones your followers will remember and therefore remember your song.

:3 that's important.

Thanks, I'll keep all your advice in mind!
