Need advice - crackling noise?!

Postby ArcaneSpark » 03 Sep 2011 05:33

Basically I've remixed something, exported it, and it sounds like my morning bowl of rice crispies (However this noise isn't audible in fl studio). Sorry if this sounds like a simple question (I'm new to music creation) but how do you remove this?

Also, first post; hi!

Welcome :]

Now that we have that out of the way, I'd have to say its hard to troubleshoot without hearing it. A common mistake for beginners however is the volume of the tracks in the production, or the EQ jobs. My advice would be to not let the noise meters hit red and to never raise anything in the EQ above the mid line [instead, lower]. That should eliminate your krispies.

Adding a limiter to the master channel can also be handy, but don't overdo it. If your song is too loud, it'll do the pulsing effect and really kill your song.

Thanks a lot for the help! I've reduced the EQ settings and changed to a different limiter preset - the crackling noise has been banished!
