You should totally buy yourself an M-Audio Oxygen49. I can tell you, from personal experience, it's much easier to make sweet, sweet head-banging melodies with knobs and sliders in addition to keys!
3xOSC is such a great little synth. Once you learn the basics, you can make all sorts of leads with that thing. Just pop it into a mixer track, add a flanger and reverb (and maybe even a SOUNDGOODIZER *gasp*) and presto.
