Pitching audio clips to a note?

Postby KillerAmp » 29 Jun 2012 22:43

ive been working with vocal glitch-type rearrangements in ableton for a dubstep track by splitting the vocal sample into multiple pieces
now what i was wondering was how to then change the pitch of these pieces to a specific note,
any help would be great! :D

In Live you can use the Sampler/Simpler device to play a sample at different pitches.
If you make a new MIDI track and load the sampler, you can drag the sample into the box that says "drag sample here" and play different notes on your keyboard.
Be careful because no matter what pitch the original sample is at, middle C will play the original sample. So if your sample is of a piano playing an A, it will be mapped to the C key even though it's not playing a C. You can use the transpose slider to fix that.
