Sampling?

Postby Maelstrom » 16 May 2012 17:29

So, I've been using FL, and I want to use a bunch of samples together to form like a melody type thing, but I don't want to have 50 different sampler channels running. Is there another way/ a vst or SOMETHING I could use to achieve this? I also would like to be able to mess with the pitch of each sample I have... but anyone have suggestions or know what you do?

Maybe Shortcircuit's what you're looking for. It's one of the most capable free samplers I've ever seen.

1.) use ableton live different daw
or
2.) you can use a drum machine, like fpc, to throw many samples on one midi track

well i often use Acid for samples (especially if i have to adjust the tempo) and arrange them in there first and then import say a chopped up and volume adjusted phrase into FL as a single wav. Yeah don't use a ton of channels on small samples I'd use them only on a whole section. Hopefully you have Newtone for pitch editing in your FL studio but other people often use Melodyne for the exact same process (featured in Avast Flutershy's Ass).
