EQing DnB drums

Postby soup2504 » 09 May 2012 18:49

So yeah, any tips on EQing drums for Drum n' Bass tracks? I know the hi-hats go through alot more EQing than anything else, but I'm not sure what exactly to cut/boost/anything it at, and every time I try, it ends up sounding horribleeeeeeee. This also applies for all the other stuff, like kicks and snares, because I don't want everything to be too overpowering, etc.

Any general tips for this? Thanks in advance c:

Well, for my kicks, I do something like this: http://i.imgur.com/DldQ8h.png
with the 2 at 100 Hz and the 6 at 3100

For my snares, I do something like this: http://i.imgur.com/0cofh.png
2 at 100 Hz and 6 at 3100Hz

For me, there is no set rule with hihats, it depends on what you're looking for and the sample itself

To see what these sounds like, these pictures were from this: http://soundcloud.com/oscilox/drum-and-bass-wip-v2-de

Just skip to :45 to get to the drums

Thats Eqing DnB in my experience, and I just started, so I'm definitely not an expert. I'm sure others have different 'methods and whatnot
Just started this music stuff, it's kinda fun.
