Anyone wanna help me with something?

Postby spacebaseloop » 19 Mar 2012 20:14

I think my music isnt all that popular because I really don't put anything from the show into it. I just put a the name of the track something to do with ponies but the track its self doesnt. Is there some way for me to get around this?

Well there's your problem.

The music needs to be pony related for it to have any chance of it catching on, I suggest doing a remix of a song in the show and post that in the pony communities and forums.

Where to begin...

Alright, first of all, just naming your track with some sort of reference to ponies isn't ever going to get you noticed, and is most likely going to reduce your chances of being posted on websites such as EqD, and above all else, it shows a great lack of inspiration and thought on your part.

A song has to have meaning to you, an inspiration, a mood, a thought, a message, whatever it is. Making a song relevant to the fandom does not nessecarily equal lyrical content of that context. It could be entirely instrumental work inspired by a character, an episode, a piece of fanfiction.

However if what you truly want is to be recognised for what you do, then I have one piece of advice. Don't put pony names to your songs in the hope that that will get you noticed. Don't make your songs for other people; Make them for yourself. If your songs don't have meaning to you, they won't have meaning to anyone else, either.
