I have now started using Milkytracker as well, and am considering learning OpenMPT.

Friends have been trying to get me use Ableton Live, but I'm comfortable with FL, and if it isn't broke, don't fix it eh?

I use Finale 2011 and Famitracker. Famitracker is obviously for the chiptunes.

Right now I use Ableton Live Lite. So I need an upgrade.

I won't get FL until they release FL Studio 10.5 as completed (not beta). It has a performance mode, so I could still enjoy the awesomeness of Ableton on a full DAW, but pay less for it. Because I really don't have $499 for Ableton Live 8.

I primarily use FL Studio, although I am trying to learn Ableton for the sake of versatility and being able to do collabs with more people.

I love FL though, and I see no reason to completely switch over to Ableton.

Am I the only one who thinks of goatse when I see the traktor logo?

And Audacity better than FL, No. If FL was completely free, then yes
well, only with the recording feature, FL sucks bawlz, the rest is quite fine though

I mostly use logic pro. But I've also used ableton lite to chop up samples and other good stuff.

Now I have converted to using a combination of audacity and OpenMPT. We'll see how long this one lasts.

I didn't know there were so many REAPER users here! Cool.

REAPER's my main DAW, followed closely by Renoise.

I also like to poke around with some of the other trackers out there, like MilkyTracker, Famitracker, Buzz, Psycle, and OpenMPT, particularly for pseudo-chiptunes stuff. (Speaking of, if anyone wants to do a tracker collab, you should "hit me up", as they say.) I don't usually develop full tracks with them, though.

I'm seeing famitracker spring up in MLR a lot now. I guess I have to try and see how it is soon.

I don't like FL that much, that's why I switched to mixcraft because automation is so easy lol

It's the best for chiptune, but you can't do anything else on it. OpenMPT is the best free tracker for other genres.

You should try Renoise. It's pretty sweet for all genres
