Ummm, I pretty much just used the Atlantis synth for the longest time, but now I also have Synth1 and Nexus. After learning gating, I'm probably going to overuse that. Um, I probably overuse staccato and pizzicato strings.

I abuse Nexus hardcore. Granted, I'm still learning how to make my own samples, so until then, Nexus is just...so good.

I use this kind of chord progression "design?" (It's hard to explain) in almost every song I make because it never gets old and I love it:
Starts at 1:25 - 1:33
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... 762E#t=85s

The progression descends down.

I may use piano too much. I'm almost dependant on it's brilliant ability to capture my emotion.

And reverb, i use that for realism, but I don't know about the too much part ;P

Piano, strings, wind instrument, and celesta. Just because I love em so much.
And drum loops. Because I can't play one.

I don't think there's a single song I have made that doesn't use that.

Also, I use a ridiculous amount of reverb thanks to Derpy Hooves. WHAT HAVE YOU INFECTED ME WITH?!

I also tend to use Clip to amplify a noise beyond any sensible loudness level and Clip to cut it back down. It makes it sound distorted. I will continue to abuse this as it is a really fun way to make something buzzy, distorted and guitar-like. It's practically a part of my sound's identity-- g-- holy shit that sounds arrogant goddammit

I have managed to use a standard pop 4 chord progression in almost every single song i've ever released. (And this spans over 5 years of writing music)
Hahaha I don't even go on here anymore

My project's VSTs are 80% massive
My effects are 80% Soundgoodizers

And I double notes in the piano roll to make things louder.

Not so much in my electronic music (partially because I haven't done as much electronic music) but I tend to overuse the VI-I-II-IV-V progression. And by overuse I mean mash it into a pulp.

I'm barely even sure it really counts, but when I'm in Reason, there is no track that is untouched by Thor and Scream 4 on tape mode. No track.

But as a more general rule, reverb swamps all. Funny, considering my first album was all swamp-themed.

Every Synth is Sytrus.
EVERY. ONE.

I bought massive though, just have to learn how to use it.

Apart from that though I tend to just choose random plugins every time to see what they do :P, but Fruity Parametric EQ 2 is sweet.

Reverb. Reverb. Reverb. And then sprinkle some reverb on top with a little reverb on the side.

- Glitch: Most of my sounds are influenced by Glitch in one way or another.
- Fruity Love Philter... It's my guilty pleasure.
- Blood Overdrive: gotta have phat kicks.
- Fruity Hardcore: Effect VST intended for guitars, but works for some leads and kicks too. OH, and vocals. :D
- Automation in general... I apply it to EVERYTHING because I seem to think that it gives my stuff variation and depth.
- Reverb & Feedback: Too much gaps and quiet spots? Reverb to the rescue.

Oh... And I use a lot of samples. A LOT. I like fixing and retouching samples more than twisting knobs on a generator. :)
