Why don't we have a "How do I make this sound?" thread? It'll cut down on all of the threads on the same topic, and it'll be much more simple to just drop an example in the thread and wait for someone to answer.

It would be hard to find the sound your'e looking for. Another subforum for sound creation would work, in my opinion, though.

I've always wondered why we never had some kind of "ask a simple question, get a simple answer" thread, not for this specifically but for the technique forum in general. I've seen it work rather well on other forums and it cuts down on simple one or two reply threads about really general things.

I think a new section of the forum would be a bit excessive. I think it's fine the way it is. Also, this is a sweet place to pitch an idea of my own: (Not trying to derail, just sharing)

Sound design contests! It would help us all improve GREATLY and it'd be a nice break from all of these albums.

Anyways, back on topic I have to agree with everyone else. I'd be pretty tough to find what you need. I also think it would end up like the other "official ____" threads, where people end up posting with no replies, or it becomes too eclectic and crazy. But those are just my two cents.

I personally kinda like the idea of a subforum for "how do I get this sound". But MLR doesn't seem too big on making new forums/subforums.

Well, the Challenges, Contests, and Events forum is called the Challenges, Contests, and Events forums. Go make a contest for that.

I don't see the problem with having so many threads asking "how do I make this sound".

It would also get lost in the back pages after people don't post in it for a week which would result in the threads coming back. This forum really needs to sticky more of those 'official' threads.
