For this tutorial, I'm going to use Addictive Drums and Ableton Live 8
When you open up Ableton and put Addictive Drums into a MIDI Track, you should see something like this:

Now, Addictive Drums works as a generic stereo vsti. To enable multiple outputs, we'll have to click a few buttons:
(Of course, other vstis might enable multiple outputs differently, I'm showing the one for this specific VSTi)

After enabling all external outputs, the only sound coming out of AD should be the reverb
HERE COMES THE ABLETON PART
Add a new MIDI Track, and put an instance of External Instrument on it

Set the External Instrument to send MIDI to the main instance of Addictive Drums
Then set the Audio input to receive audio from the kick channel

Duplicate The External Instrument as many times as needed, Group all tracks so they don't take half of your project, Assign Audio Inputs of External Instruments to appriopriate channels of AD, Rename tracks, save project for future use

THANK YOU, GOODBYE, I KNOW THAT NO ONE CARES
