Finale and Sibelus

Postby Esoomspark » 17 Aug 2012 22:17

These are the only notation software that I currently know that exist. They work quite well at composing simple pieces which is what i'm currently teaching myself to do, but when it comes to export that into a MIDI, the samples they use are pretty lackluster.

Anyone know of a good program for notation/composition that also has a good library of samples?

OR AM I JUST SPEAKING GIBBERISH THAT NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER I DONT KNOW WHAT IM ASKING FOR REALLY

Sibelius 7's Sound Sets are actually pretty nice.

Alternatively, try Notion!

Garritanmake nice instruments for the price, so check them out. Otherwise Sib's soundsets are fairly decent for an out-of-the-box thing.

If you're looking for real quality, spend real money.

Finale 2012 has some pretty good default samples, based on the ones LunchBagMusic linked from Garritan.
