Dubstep on NI Massive

I question my own use of massive only because I make songs with only it. It's in the drums and the pads and the bass and all the effects.

I need to learn a new synth, I'm trying to learn FM8, but it's really confusing and ghastly. I need a synth that sounds nice and warm and can make the screeches and swoops I love without being overwhelming. Massive filled that void because the interface was simply amazing, and I could get the plastic-ey presets to sound very warm and angry very quickly (sine shaper ftw).

Idk, man. I might get reaper, or try to learn Harmor. But as for now, I can't make anything without massive, and it's killing me. Especially when everyone is bashing it.

Have you tried Sylenth? It's really similar to Massive and it has a really unique sound to it. It's also pretty easy to learn if you know your way around massive!

Fabfilter Twin, ReFX Vanguard, Reaktor and Omnisphere are also great ones to have a look into. FM8 has an uncanny knack for leaving me in a rage in less than five minutes. The thing is a nightmare to get acquainted with

Worth noting that you can use third party distortions, bit crushers and filters on top of whatever sound you create in massive to help shape the sound. On top of that, you really just need to experiment with different wave shapes and which octave they play within. Hell, just muck around with every parameter within it. Seriously, a lot of synth patches are found by absolute chance and random dicking around.

Edit: basically, to make a wobble, you just need to have an LFO of sorts on your sound. Getting the actual sound is the hard part that you'll accomplish through YouTube tutorials and experimentation.

Also the sine shaper sounds good with a screamer and digigrainII to me only when it's loward an octave and the classic tube is also on. It still works though.
