I'd love to be involved in this :D
Suggestion: perhaps to help make this educational there could be a first draft deadline, during which we'd listen to/critique what we've all made on skype or something? (woo, networking!) Then there could be a final draft deadline after that.

I realize this would mean a longer time before the release and more time spent on it, but I guess I feel like it would help fulfill the idea of this being a learning experience, know what I mean?

I like that idea!

I'd also like to be a part of this, since even though I am kinda busy right now, I can always make time for music :)

The thing is though, even though nothing I have on my soundcloud (except for the two most recent things) really show what kind of a musician I am, since I've gotten a lot better... STILL, I am INCREDIBLY novice'd and I'd probably not make anything worthwhile to put on the album ;-;

It's still a cool idea overall though.

You know what, count me in too. I'm sure I can produce at least one decent song, and I will have the odd weekend where I can get online during the summer.

I'd be glad to help with this. If someone wants to start and I'll collaborate at the end (not quite a remix if it's pre-publish) or just be a set of ears to assist with any final drafts at the deadline. I like the idea of those who may get stuck or be the most unsure pairing with someone with a little more experience as then they're not just on their own. I think bartekko and I (and anyone else who fits that description) should be included in a mentor /assister category of your list. Of course this would be really cool if people even bigger were mentoring some newbs / polishing their tracks but I just don't know if we'd see any interest or not from those who don't frequent MLR.

I do like the idea of a rough draft deadline where people can share their WIPS with each other and get feedback and then a final draft a few weeks afterwards to really polish them up.

3 weeks rough draft deadline + listening party/ 2 week more final draft/ publish?

I feel sad that I missed this. Funny thing is that I'm also doing an album collab over the summer with some of the same people (ColorTwelve and Kyoga), and a few others who are not on MLR (MrGeorgeFTW and Prince Whateverer). Pretty cool coincidence, huh? The one I'm working on is mostly going to be metal, with alot of other styles (such as dubstep, jazz, classical, etc.).

If you need an insane progressive metal or djent guitarist, feel free to hit me up. I have an 8 string guitar, so I can do fairly well with low end tones, and I can do some weird stuff with it.

I like the theme. I can definitely relate to the theme and write songs about it. I'll get some help for drums (since I'm a guitarist). Besides, Scootaloo is one of my favorite ponies anyways.

Also, would it be okay if my song made its way on my collab and yours?

I'd be VERY keen to collab with you on a Djent/Jazz track, Chromatic. I'm a HUGE Djent fan, and Jazz and Djent go hand in hand as far as I'm concerned.

Cool. I'll just make something with the bronies I'm collabing with and give it to you, and put it as a bonus track.
