Native Instruments: Massive bass

Postby BronyTuber » 14 Mar 2012 23:30

Hey, so I've been trying to get away from just using presets and I've been working on actually forming my own sounds using Massive and today I got a really nice sounding wobble bass going but I'm running into an issue.

When I hit a key on my keyboard to play the sound when in Massive itself it sounds fine, exactly how I want it to, but when I throw the sound on a piano roll or anything like that it sounds completely different, to me it sounds like the LFO I have set up isn't actually working so its just playing the flat sound. Am I just doing it wrong, am I missing something?

Check your LFO/Performer/Stepper settings to see if you're:

A. Synced to your host BPM.
B. Have restart on or off.
C. Have position on or off.

From your issue it sounds like your LFO isn't restarting with each hit, so as you're adding notes to the piano roll they aren't at the beginning of your LFO, but rather somewhere in the middle.

Note that sometimes you don't want restart on, especially with performers and steppers.
DAW: Cubase 6.5, Ableton Live 8
Preferred Genre: Industrial/Trance
Hardware: Schecter Diamond Series Bass, Yamaha Acoustic Guitar, BP355 Effects Pedal, Keystudio 49K Keyboard, Akai APC40, Korg nanoKEY2 25k Keyboard

Hmm it looks like turning off sync and just using the rate setting instead fixed the issue, I feel stupid now, thanks a bunch!
