Last-Minute Local Help

Postby siripum » 14 May 2025 04:39

Totally dropped the ball and forgot my partner’s birthday is coming up this week. I'd really love to find a gift from a small business here in Skagit Valley—maybe something handmade or unique. Any recommendations for places to look last-minute that aren’t just big-box stores?

We’ve all been there, haha. Last year I forgot an anniversary and had to scramble for a last-minute gift that didn’t scream “I forgot.” That’s when I found the Local Business Directory—it helped me find a local artisan who makes handmade candles and bath sets, and it ended up being a hit. The best part is, you can find shops and services that are actually close by and don’t require long shipping times. Whether it’s jewelry, home goods, or gift cards to local experiences, there’s plenty to choose from. I’d start there and just browse a few categories—you’ll probably find something thoughtful and unique. And hey, bonus points for supporting a local business too

Oh this is such a lifesaver—thank you! I’ve been scrambling trying to come up with a thoughtful gift idea that isn’t generic, and this sounds like the perfect place to look. I’ve been meaning to shop local more anyway, so I’ll definitely check out the Skagit Valley Directory. Really appreciate the tip!
