Well, they're basically two of the best progressive bands in the world, so why not try to take it further than them?

But seriously, we have the skeleton of the album down, but the only way to follow through on our ideas is to actually start writing. Who knows, maybe on the way we'll deviate from the original concept in a cool way, or improvise something entirely different that still fits the song we're working on.

if you guys give me a couple weeks I can get a really nice ambient track out that you guys can do some work over, add a drum beat to, whatever. It would prove to be a really good intermission track to detract from all the hardcore stuff.

Speaking of you doing ambient, how were you coming with beefing up our album intro?

I'm terrible with Ableton, so I need practice before attempting anything electronic/ambient. And here I am trying to make dubstep and failing epically.

Gotta start somewhere, I think everyone nowadays tries dubstep before realizing that one does not simply start with dubstep.

After I failed at making dubstep, I played around with house just to explore sound design and automation and stuff, then moved on to whatever I felt like, which led me to my weird genre-mashing involving metal, hip-hop, and UK dubstep. Just play around for a bit, eventually good things will happen.

Oh, and if you're using Ableton, I'd look into acquiring ill.Gates' Ableton templates and stuff. They're supposed to be very good at streamlining your workflow, so you can get your ideas down faster
