That's some cool stuff. However, I was thinking that track 8 should be somewhat calm in comparison to the other songs. Do you think it should be calm or hardcore?

Perhaps I might instead do some Animals As Leaders style stuff on my 8 string for track 8. If that's ok with you...

I added the idea to the document. Our simple layout is complete! Time to begin writing.

Sounds good, we layer that with whatever I end up with after tweaking my end (just VST settings and automation and stuff like that) and it should be epic.

Cool. This means that things are going better than expected. We are ready to start writting and recording before June. I will likely be at my grandparent's house from June 11- June 18 or something like that, so I can't do much that week.

We may need to make some revisions (mostly concerning guitar tuning and where I use the 8 string) to the plan durng writing. I will making each song its own document for the writing process.

One last thing, I think we should work on one song at a time so that we can stay organized. This might led to some writers block, but will prevent us from making a disatrous mess.

Which song would you like to begin with first?

I'd say we should start the first track, since we already have the intro, but usually a first track is made later so that it makes sense as the opener for an album. So, maybe the Rarity track? Melodic death metal sounds simple enough to start off with.

Unfortunately, keyboard is the only instrument I know how to play, so I can't really help out a great deal with the songwriting phase. However, I've been writing basic progressive metal tracks in just MIDI for a while now. I want to help out in any way I can - if there's a spot that needs a few "meedly-mees" courtesy of my current ability in keyboard soloing, I'll be glad to contribute.

i know i'm going to sound like a massive prick for saying this, but i'd rather do all the 'harsh' vocals, screams, growls etc.. the project started on the basis i would do that and i feel thats what i'm 'better' at as it were..
my range goes from odd sounding high, mid ranges and low, i can do inhales, growls and whatever else the kids are calling it these days..

my facilities to record drums are not ideal, but manageable.
