Looking for a Introduction into Electro Music

Postby NickelDare » 19 Dec 2012 15:32

Hello dear Bronies and MLR-Forum Members.
I have been doing many Orchestral Songs in the past year of 2012..
Most of them never made it to the Internet and I just showed them my friends, but 2 even made it to soundcloud..
Anyway, I don't want to keep on producing Orchestral Music..
I would rather like to make Electro and I am in great need of a Teacher or Guide for it.
Now I know that It wont be a guide like "Do this this and this and your a good Musician"
I rather look out for already talented Electro Musicians who could teach me how to master Synths and how to efficiently Create them.. I have always been this guy who needs to talk to his teacher rather then just watching YT-Videos or reading tutorials..
I already look forward to every possible way to get better in Electro Music and appreciate every attempt even if it is not helpful. :3

I hope somepony around here can help me :) .

Trying to get the jump from Orchestral to Electro..

If you're looking for individual tutors, there's a topic for that with details on who does what here. You can have a look through and see if anyone would be of use to you.

I saw that thread but assumed it would apply to real world Instruments only.
If that is not the fact, then I excuse for posting it here first.
Will go right away and ask there as well..

I'll be willing to teach you! Just add me on skype, @ djitroitnyah.

I'll do my best to teach you all that I know. I'm not the best, but I'm fairly efficient.

hmmm does you have Ableton Operator? because that is probably my best focus for electronic music. and even at that i am not very good.

but for learning electronic music, its kinda like you gotta jump in and try to keep yourself afloat. i dunno if its the only way or the best way but its the way that im sortof doing. :P i think this jumping in and staying afloat could be used for any type of music i guess.

i dunno. i kinda wish i had somebody to teach me about musics. but i think that its best to learn little bits from a lot of people rather than have one person teach you everything.

hope this helps! :D

Take my advice with a grain of salt as i too am learning how this music stuff works
English is my native language but it is defiantly not my forte.

Thanks a lot guys :3!
Going to buy myself a nice Music Theory Book for Christmas to get a better understanding of Chord Progression and all that stuff.
Guess after that, all I can do is try try and again try...
Hope this won't take to long (Note: Excepted time "Half a Year").

Half a year of theory from a book isn't enough in my opinion, but it's a good start.

To "revive" this once more.
I did order some Local (German) theory books, but I would like to ask what International or English books you would suggest in addition?
I got a beginner one obviously and one specially on Synthesizers.
The Synth book scared me first but I have to say since I study Electrical and Computer Engineering it was not that bad to start with since I already covered some basics in school.
