1) tweeters at ear level, or close to.
2) not in a corner, that's where bass collects so your bass with be distorted.
3) place your setup facing the long way of the room, not the short way. It'll give the waveforms more length to move around, or something along those lines.
4) form an equilateral triangle between your mixing position and your monitors, to the best extent that you can.
