<nonpony><WIP><Industrial> Anarchy *UPDATED*

I've been working on my first collab, with Ibeconcept, Prince whateverer, Omnipony and Ibringdalulz for a few days now. So far, it's turning out pretty decent, but would love some input. Perhaps a few good ideas.

I'll be recording the chorus soon. It'll probably go over those long arpeggiated synth parts

Omnipony did the guitars, the rest gave me a rap verse each and everything else is by me.

You need to be careful about the rap vocals (especially Flowny's verse), they're not piercing through the mix enough. They need to be balanced way louder, or you need to duck the other instruments, especially if the backing track is going to be this sonically complex during their verses.

Also, knowing the song where that Lulz verse originally came from, try moving the acapella so it comes in about a half-beat later than this. It'll make more sense flow-wise if you do.

If you want to end the song unresolved, doing it with the fourth of the root isn't the best way. Try the fifth; authentic cadences more common than Plagal cadences (I think?), and the tension will be more palpable. Or, you can just move that synth perfect fourth down to a major third interval so it resolves with the strings.

I think you could switch out a couple of instrument choices, particularly drums, but that's really up to you. Nothing pops out at me as offensive.

The mix itself is probably going to be done by someone other than me. (Thank god) I'm just working on the instrumental, really. I'll see about lifting that note, I had a bitch of a time trying to end this song.

Thanks a lot for taking the time, man!

Got the chorus recorded, waiting on Prince's vocals to go over the first part of it. Some slight tweaks have been done to the mix, and the first two rap verses will be re-recorded and layered properly.

I still think Lulz's verse is offbeat, but other than that it's coming together very nicely.

It probably is. I'm not used to working with machinegun vocals, so there's a high chance it's off by a few.

Luckily, I won't be placing the vocals. That's for the rappers to do :D

Necro, I know. But it's done. Any final thoughts before I call it a day?

Please be aware, this was started in early December, so it does feel a bit old compared to what I'm currently doing. Still, it feels nice to actually have it done and it will be premiered at Babscon tomorrow!

This definitely sounds different from your current stuff, but nonetheless it still sounds pretty decent. I have no experience with Industrial music so I have no input what so ever, but just to say something, I think that there is a little too much high frequencies in this. There's a hithat(I think) on top of a cymbal sometimes and it kinda hurts a little, but that's just my opinion. The melody at 4:27-4:44 sounds like it's being squished, or flat I guess, a little hard to hear to be more specific. That's all I really have to say, just my opinion about it. I actually really like the ending though, so nice work there.
