Octavia's Dubstep

Postby darksymphony » 08 Nov 2011 04:22

I know what you're thinking. Octavia. Dubstep. WHAT

But yeah, one of my guilty pleasures is a love of shipfics, and Octavia/Vinyl is one of my favourite pairings. With that in mind, this piece is the theoretical result of Octavia's continual exposure to Vinyl's more modern taste in music. Guest musician: Lyra. Random yelling: Princess Luna.

Recorded using my AX-Synth Keytar last night on very little sleep. Still can't quite work out how I did it, I couldn't even TYPE at 2am...

(This was the first time I feel I began to explore what a DAW can really do, rather than just recording a couple of 4 minute improvisations on top of each other.)
Mainly live orchestral. My studio:

Yamaha P95
Roland Gaia SH-01
Korg Electribe
Roland AX-Synth
Korg Monotron+Delay
Yamaha SV-120

Not 140 BPM, no half speed drums and drop not epic enough, no wobble, it's not dubstep :D

on a serious note, sounds good, but at some moments I can hear the mechanical effect the cello makes

You should put some wobble on that cello, I wonder what that would sound like.
