To my surprise, people in the TB really seemed to enjoy this one. Which is pretty cool!

I wasn't there for that part of the sync-listen unfortunately, so I couldn't tell them these two relatively important facts:

1) the phone-distorted voice is completely improvised, I just sort of sat down in front of the mic and started talking as an experiment

2) the non-distorted voices are in fact quotations from works of poetry, although there's one novel thrown in there.

I guess I can post lyrics if anyone wants, or at the very least tell you the things I was quoting, but that would kind of go against the spirit with which I made this piece.

I was sort of inspired by Bright Eyes's "Clairaudients (Kill or Be Killed)", which served as the inspiration for the title, and also a little bit by John Adams's "On the Transmigration of Souls". Both of these pieces are so far above me that it's laughable that I would mention them in the same post as this song, but I thought some of you might be curious I guess.

This is awesome, I loved all the abstract ethereal feelings I got from all the constant movement in the voices. Very lovely piece of experimentation!

Kind of reminded me of Alvin Lucier's "I'm Sitting in a Room", although more as a vocals going here there and everywhere type of thing!

Maybe consider what he did in order to make something even crazier!
