An Eventful Christmas in Equestria..

Postby Trixie » 30 Oct 2011 16:21

Heya everypony. This is the second song I've ever written to completion. The title is kind of bleh, but oh well XD. Imagine a story in your head as you listen to the song...and if you like, post it here! It'd be interesting to see what you all come up with.

Enjoy, and don't be afraid to criticize =P.

That sure is an eventful Christmas! Kind of makes me think whoever is on a secret mission for Santa or something...

But pretty cool! From a compositional point of view, it works real nice, lots of 12 bar blues used! I duno whether you were after using an orchestra or not, considering large string sections are present, but maybe look at using the other sections? They're pretty cool too!

But nice job and welcome to the forums!

So we’ll hunt you. Because you can take it. Because you’re not our hero.
You’re a silent guardian of music, a watchful protector of songs.

Why do I feel like every new composer makes orchestral before electronica?
ah... No sound design

I dunno, but there were a few reasons for me xD for one thing, I've always liked combining Orchestral with other styles...two, there were so many orchestral soundfonts readily available that it was the easiest path to take...and three, I know nothing of synths and waveforms and whatnot XD. So yeah, you're right.

Yeap, I was sort of aiming to have a bit of orchestra in there, but I agree...I like my strings too much xP.

Thanks and thanks :D.

Weeell...i sort of had it set in my head that it sounded like Christmas after writing the intro, so I never questioned it afterwards XD. But yeah, I have heard a few people now say it sounds like halloween. To each their own!
