Stargazer (Sparkle)

Here ya go...

"Dad are you space?" "Yes. Now we are a family again."

-------------------
If only I was an astronaut...

(if you don't understand the image, I'm sorry but not even I can help you)

I had zero plan for this song. I recorded the entire thing in one go, and only removed 2 bad note hits and fixed 1 timing issue.

I have a window above my keyboard and I decided to open it up. Outside I saw a light gray sky. It was showering delicately onto the tall pines swaying in the wind. My eyes were looking out at this sight for half the time I was writing this song... I think I found a new method :)

I tried to come up with a way to add vocals or strings but they all seemed too... full... too rich... so I wrote only a piano part, thus having the same twinkling beauty of space.

Made in Garageband '11 using the standard instruments and these soundfonts:

This was pretty tranquil, man. Considering that this was all improv, it really had a nice flow to it. There are a few things about the composition that felt a tad weak and predictable, but that's to be expected considering. I think this would really sound nice with some supporting instruments in places. I like the effects that you had for the piano, the ethereal reverb gave for a very light feel.

Most of all, I appreciate you wanting to keep MLR a creative environment and that you're willing to share your work, even though you haven't been getting near as much feedback as you deserve. Just keep at it, man. :)

No prob. As I said in the description I tried to add supporting instruments but they would have been too much for what I wanted to write :P... Just an artistic choice.

Anyway, right now i'm thinking I might add another channel to Youtube so I can try different styles like DnB and Dub, but I'm going to challenge traditional versions of those styles by trying to make you feel a STRONG emotion through it... I feel like it'll be challenging but also totally worth it. :)

So basically, I want to write a DnB or Dub that can bring tears (and not because it's horrendous ;))

But I'm not done writing classically, no way. So yeah, thanks for appreciating my stuff. It's good motivation :)
