<Pony><Dubstep><Trance> Astral Collider

Postby AJYoung » 06 May 2015 22:41

First pony song, thus first post to this forum!
This is a Dubstep track with a bit of trance influence, inspired by the battle between Celestia and Luna in the Season 4 premiere.

wow this is long but pretty awesome imo

i feel like the lead synth could be beefier but its still pretty good and fits well

the claps seem a little quite at times

the wubs are greats imo with each drop keeping them fresh, love it keep it up

Funny enough, but I actually CUT about a minute and a half out of my first draft.

Thanks for the critique. You actually pointed out most of the areas I know I struggle in, mixing being the obvious one. I have the hardest time getting anything not to sound like mud when it's done. Now that I look back, your advice on what's supposed to take precedence during each section is something I wasn't putting focus on - but will do in the future.

Also, designing sounds that accommodate each other is something I've tried and failed to do over and over. Any advice on how to go about that?

I may come back to this and redo some things later on, but for now I'll focus on using the advice for future music.
