I've listened to this a while ago, surprised you came here though.
I like the interesting, if simple progression departing from the original song, and the vocal chops are a nice touch too.
I feel that the background bass is a little too strong, overpowering the other melodic elements of the song which are more interesting.
The beat is decent, but could use more variation aside from kick, snare, and shaker to emphasize the different sections of the song.
The song could be more dynamic, with louder and softer parts, but that's just my preference.

I disagree, and enjoy the bass. It's not bottoming out and the leads are sharp enough to cut through.

What I'm missing is in the composition, more than anything. It's a bit repetitive, with not too much going on. Especially the drums could use some more interesting runs. Some more stereo spread would also be welcome as it seems a bit too clustered in the middle here and there.

The general idea is pretty cool and I really enjoyed the intro. It just doesn't do very much else for me, and then it just sorta.... ends...
