This is basically a part 2 of "Bringing the Rain" Which I did 5 months ago which was met with some success. :D this is a fully improvised guitar solo, but I spent a lot of time working on this particular song (at least in comparison as to how long I spend writing improvised tracks)
Hopefully you'll all enjoy.

I know Mush doesn't like the lead guitar in it because it's "Piercing", but anything else?

HA, orthodox structure. Kyoga, don't do this.

I fail to see how that would be interesting. It completely defeats the purpose of prog.

All Im saying is iv known Kyoga for about a year now and he hasn't really tried his hand at making a truly structured rock song but its his vision.... anyway at least for for me it would be interesting to 1 day hear this

If someone can write a good progressive song, then a generically structured song would be simple for them.

Kyoga, when are we going to collab on an instrumental track? Like one of those Vai/Satch or Friedman/Becker deals? Come on! Let's give people the feels!

well first off I've only been on mlr for 3 and a half months. XD
Before then I had less than 20 subscribers.

But apart from that, typical rock structure is VERY simple to write to the point where you only have to know how to make an intro, verse, chorus, bridge and then an outtro. (That's on the COMPLICATED ONES)

But really, just because the structure i'm using for these songs isn't the same style as yours doesn't mean it's unstructured. XD

:D i think it would be cool.
There aren't that many guitarists in the fandom who are actually any good at the thing, so I would love to see what War and I could come up with.

I bet we could certainly blow "Going it Alone" out of the water.

Not really a huge fan of this kinda thing, but god be damned if I don't love your playing and tone. I'm sure it's been mentioned elsewhere, so I apologize if I'm making you repeat yourself, but what's your setup? Guitar? Pickups? Is it DI or a Mic'd amp? If it's an amp, what kind is it? Stuff like this intrigues me.

XD i'm down for it.

Damn, I should've read through this thread earlier, because I don't feel original anymore.

But I'm still going to make a backtrack for you two to go crazy over, K? :3

Well.
I use a limited edition dean flying V.
Top pickup is a standard humbucker + Gwire reconnection I did myself, and the bridge has an Invader-style pickup to it. I mic my Vox Valvetronix (Series1) with my AT2020 cardioid microphone (from audio technica) For this tone I used the 1-off method and used a reverberating (i'm not kidding) cardboard box to get the echo and drowntone for it.
Doesn't respond that well for lower frequencies, but it does the trick.
Daw: Mixcraft Pro Studio 5
I also used audacity to reverberate my pads on a square level to get the "chorus" sound.

:D and C12, if you want to make a background track for our piece I wouldn't oppose that one bit. It'd be interesting to see what you could come up with in regards to a background.
