Banished Moon Records Artist Scouting/Comp. Album

Postby Ricky Denzel » 04 Mar 2014 08:52

Hey, everybody, Ricky Denzel here.

I'm hosting a original mix compilation album for a record label I'm hopefully planing to get off the ground. The label is called Banished Moon and it's open for both pony and non pony works. I'm just starting off with just music and when we get enough hype, we might open it for other types of art like designers, artists, etc.

EDIT: This is a freebie, you guys. And I'm sorry for derping on the details

I would do a Skype group chat, but I'm not sure about it because I have a lot of things to do. Also, if you want to do a mega mix for the album or come up with some art, I would really love that.

-Send in your project to my e-mail at [email protected]
-Deadline is July 15, 2014 (Will be extened if needed)
-Must be WAV file and MP3 file (for those who can't convert to wav, which I don't get. It's not that hard to convert your song into a WAV file. There are websites and programs for that, you guys)
-No foul and/or sexual language, not in this album. We don't want to start off as the dirty mouth guys who beat the living crap out of the Orbit lady.
-Contact me if you need any help or post a comment

Genres:
-Hip hop (Trap included)
-Dubstep
-House
-Hardstyle
-Industrial
-Orchestra

They all can be either chill or hard. I don't care either way. I don't mind at all. As long as it's not violent in any way.

Thanks <3

So is the compo a fund raiser for the music label or is it a freebie? TBH it's weird to start comp album for a label that doesn't exist yet. Do you have any people on the label yet? Are you looking to get musicians on this label through this comp. How do you plan on organizing around a music label if you don''t use skype?

Sorry to ask so many questions but it's important you plan things right if you want this to be serious as many have failed before you. Here's something i wrote which you may want to look through...

So, kb as in kbps? Or KB as in size?
MP3 doesn't go 350kbps, lad. 320kbps is the last stop.
And WAV has 16bit and 32bit (and 24bit).

And next to that, converting MP3 to WAV is useless, because it'll keep mp3 quality even though it'll say it has a higher bit-rate (if it even does that, I don't know). Better just render a WAV.

That aside, not sure if I'm gonna do something for this, but I'll keep it in mind.

A wav file cannot be 160kbps. What you want to ask for is 24bit wavs. I also would recommend going for 320kbps MP3 as that is the industry standard. Some systems will even have problems playing anything about 320. That said, there is very little noticable difference between 192 and 320; but if you're being serious about it then 320 is the way to go.

MP3 does go higher, but there is absolutely no point at all.

I'm probably not gonna be doing anything for this mate, sorry.

Oy, what's the point. I can't even make a compo....

Freewave, lock it until I get the label started.
