Chords of Chaos 2

Postby KingsleyEvergreen » 09 Sep 2013 22:17

Alright! So its been a year since the last Chords of Chaos album hosted by Captain Fluffatun, and this year it is going to be bigger and better than ever and that means Nightmare Night music! So if you are interested in making music for charity and for Halloween, lets do this! [details below]

The album will be Name Your Price on Bandcamp, with an optional free download. Proceeds collected go directly to Your Siblings.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
-Submit a .wav using box.com - PLEASE
-The song should be related to Nightmare Night as the theme but need not completely stick to it.
-The song should be dark, sad or mysterious etc. [be smart about this guys, not too graphic]
-Maximum song length is ten minutes

SUBMISSION TITLE FORMAT: "Artist name - Track name"

FAQ:

Q: What type of genres are allowed?
A: Any genre is fair game, just remember the creepy mood :)

Q: Are collaborations allowed?
A: Absolutely! Friendship is magic, after all.

Q: My computer died right before the deadline. Can I have an extra day?
A: If you submit after the deadline, there is no guarantee that your song will make it to me in time, so try to submit before. If by some miracle I receive it before the panel prelistens, then I will still accept it. Again, no guarantees.

Q: Oh no, prelistening D: I am the poop at the moosik :,( I may as well not even try.
A: Nonsense! The only way you will for sure fail to make it on is if you don't try at all. As cheesy as that sounds, it's also true. If you truly think you need work, then work! Ask around the forum and skype groups for help on your tracks. There are plenty of qualified musicians to help you out. Now go make music.

Q: Can I make sixteen billion songs for the album?
A: You can submit as many as you want, but you're only shooting yourself in the foot if you go more than two. The more time you divide up for all your crazy projects in the small time frame you have, the less likely it will be that any of them will wind up as a quality piece at all.

Q: Does my song need to include ponies?
A: Though the album is officially pony, non-pony submissions will be accepted with equal regard.

WIP date: October 1st though really myself and a few others will be providing feedback so long as it is posted in the skype group.
DUE: October 25th(Date may change) to [email protected]

My skype name is Kingsley Evergreen or Wess.d.h If you wish to be a part of the group chat, add me and simply ask!

P.S. Captain Fluffatun is awesome and thanks for letting me host this one!

I'd love to be in this but time is not my friend on this one. Keen for the outcome of it though, it sounds like an awesome idea! :3

If I can get rolling on my Soul Spectrum entry soon after I finish doing the mixdown for my Derpy Swings entry in the next two days, then yes, I will take part in this.

I got such a good idea for this.
Though I'd need to collab with someone that can do Modern Dubstep. And maybe has a little bit of experience with Breakcore (optional).

As much as I'd really like to do this, there's simply too much going on for me right now, so I probably won't.

But it's awesome that you guys are doing Chords of Chaos II. It was the first album project I was involved in and I love that it's being revived for a second year.

Also, @Fluffatun: Elements of Melody. It's a pony-themed concert (outside of a convention, of course).
