Party in Equestria

Postby Pinkamena » 02 Sep 2013 13:41

Hello all.

I am writing this because I am into a dancing pony game project. I am asking here if some musicians would be okay to make some songs for my video game or just make some edit versions of some of your songs, because I need songs between 1 minute 30 and 2 minutes. I know this look short but this is the maximum length for this kind of game. Also, it can be any style of music, rock, metal, dubstep, you are free on this part.

Also, if it's possible, I would like some songs like those one :

I've been talking with Pinkamina err.... Solarwind on skype, and this seems like a win - win situation. It's gonna be a free game and its a nice way to get your music out there. I'm def gonna get a few edited tracks submitted :)

1. When's the deadline?
2. Can I submit a track that I'm also going to submit to Remix War VII?

1. The first dead line is for the 24th October, for a French bronycon, the Brony Days. After. Second deadline is the 2nd December.
2. All song are fine as long as it's between 1 min 30 and 2 min. If they are longer, you will have to edit it and make shorter.

Nice, that'll give me some time.
Do you think your project's going to be widely spread?

I hope so. I would like to show that in as many cons as possible. First with Stepmania/In The Groove (as long as I got no game designer, normally I'll get one soon) and then my own program.

This seems fairly interesting! One quick question though. Can the songs have a theme? Like what would be a fitting "theme" for the game? A Happier song or a Dark Song? Just want to know, Thanks!
My influence of music is mostly from Syd Barrett And Of course the Band he Started "Pink Floyd".

Oh, and it has to be a pony-related song, right?

Jacob: The songs can have a theme yes. I don't mind if it's something dark or happy. And for this game, there's no really theme that could fit to it, we just need something to dance on.

Simonli: It must be pony-related.

I could do something for this I guess.
I have lots of small segments that I could transform into a 2min segment

The only problem would be making it pony.

Nevertheless, you could check out my Soundcloud and see if theres anything you likt, if there is I could develop it a little more or change things around if you want..

Joke: You can actually make metal in it, there's some in the official DDR or ITG packs, so don't worry about that. Just some example of metal in them:

Flaofei: I would prefer a 2 min edit of the first song, thank you. c:

Exo: Well, you got an idea, go ahead and tell me or show me when it's done.

Else... Well... I've done those two charts lately, A Tropical Octav3 isn't repertory on my channel, I keep it secret for the Brony Day. Mind that they are in a sort of alpha, so they can change.

That could work yes. But if you finish it, I'd like you give me the BPMs, that will make the work easier for me. I can't really get the BPMs by myself when they change.

btw this is a more or less final format of it. I've still got some stuff to do, but you can get a rough idea from this.
