Q/A:




Q: What's Brony Mix????

A: Brony Mix is planned to be a hardcore remix/cover album that remixes brony songs.



Q: What genres are going to be covered???


A: Anything hardcore. Dubstep, metal, and punk will be good enough. When it comes to dubstep, make sure it has a hard hitting drum part, distorted synths, you know that sort of thing. If you're planning to do a metal or punk song, just make sure it's loud and hard hitting.


Q: Does [insert song from the actual show] count???

A: No it does not. It has to be a song from the fandom (Beyond Her Garden, Discord, etc.)


Q: Brony Mix??? Bleghhhh that's a terrible name! Can I give a suggestion for another????

A: Of Course!!!! I'm always open to new ideas!!!


Q: Is there a deadline???

A: September 12th


Other Rules

1. If you doing a metal/punk song you may use your own vocals
2. You must say you are participating by August 12th
3. You must take the music out of the song you are doing or ask the original artist for vocals (if you are doing a dubstep song)
4. You may ask to be on a judging panel (though you can not participate in the competition)
5. This will be on an audition. But the track you submit MUST be final.

and that is hardcore brony music originals.

But the idea of remixing well known tracks (sped up likely with chipmunk vocals and breakbeats) in hardcore style does sound appealing.

Case in point i did over a weekend:

I know back in the day quite a few of the people who introduced me to the scene called it "ponycore". When i first came onto mlr i used that term and people really said, no that's not a term we use and as it would indicate that we make hardcore pony tunes. Since these actually ARE hardcore tracks i'm just throwing that out there as an option as you might want to get CORE into your title somewhere.

To be fair, I've always wanted to remix it. I just need to be better at making music so it isn't subpar

Also I don't see how this differentiates much from Remix War. You can do hardcore for that, as long as it's not ear-destroying. If that's your intention though, this could work.

Although, to be fair, Pinkamena Party is doing this kind of thing. Remixes are allowed (Aussie and I are remixing Love is in Bloom for one).
