ok so here's what happened:
two of the IRC servers were not communicating properly. They were still connected, but only barely.
So instead of seeing a wall of disconnects (a net split. which did happen eventually), you'd get the same "two groups disconnected from one another" effect AND THEN A WALL OF TEXT as the servers sync back up.

the key here is that...I had to host in both of the rooms. luckily, I got a handle on this fairly quickly once I figured out what was going on.

that worked pretty well for the duration of the sync-listen...but.

good luck with the logs.

SITE UPDATE ! !! !! ! !!
changelist:
1. added a tournament mode. kind of.
(it's actually very very unstable. very. but 95% of the code is there, live. I restructured a good portion of the site to accommodate this new mode.)
2. added a check for soundcloud entries.
(this should eliminate the "track not found" things you see too often. technically.)

I think I also added some other stuff but uh...it slips my mind, because site restructuring and all that.
