Ponies at Dawn: Awakening [Out April 29th/30th!]

Hey guys,

In the past Ponies at Dawn have released 7 albums of an incredible variety of music, and we’re not planning on stopping anytime soon. We’re proud to announce that we’re opening for submissions for our next album - Awakening.

Last year was a breakthrough for us. With the release of Celestial Planes, Starlit Flames and our Christmas-themed album Snowfall, we were able to consistently produce high quality compilation albums that raised over $4000 in donations which went towards those who made it onto the albums. We can’t keep this up without you, and so we hope that with your help 2016 can be even bigger.

As with last time, all the money made by the album from donations on BandCamp will go towards the artists who make it onto the album, as thanks for the hard work put in to get on. As always, the album will be under the pay what you want model so that those who don’t wish to pay for it don’t have to.

Submissions form: https://goo.gl/inDAWh

Submissions due: April 8th (contact us if you need a few days extension)

For more information, make sure to check out our information document which has an FAQ included: https://goo.gl/LrgjaC

We have a Skype group for general discussion as well as a second group specifically for talking about music and providing feedback to each other. To be added to one or both of these Skype groups just send a Skype contact request to alexander.ashenden and make sure to include something about wanting to join the group in your contact request.

Thanks, The Ponies at Dawn Team (Arofire, Camsy, EnsionD, ExplodingPonyToast, Francis Vace, LutariFan & TheTimberWolffe)

Awesome to see some interest here! To answer your question PeKaNo, sadly CDs just aren't really a viable option for us. The cost of producing them to a quality we'd be happy with, and the restriction it would place upon the number of tracks we could put on the album, plus questionable market interest just means it's not really worth the risk of us fronting up the money for it. We still have CDs left from our initial runs for our first couple of albums, and they really just showed that it's a cool gimmick, but not enough people are legitimately interested enough in it. Some experimental DnB sounds pretty promising though ^_^

If you have a finished track, you can either email it to me at [email protected] for preliminary feedback if you want more feedback before you finalise it, or you can submit it in the google form here if it's completely finished and ready for submission: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1y6W_mw ... Y/viewform

Awesome to hear you guys are interested! So far it's shaping up as well as it has previously, which is awesome to see. Just a reminder that there's a month left for submissions, and if you need anything I'm always happy to talk and provide feedback. :)

Hey guys! Just a reminder, we've got just under 2 weeks until submissions close! Already gotten some awesome ones, and seems like plenty more are on the way. Make sure you don't leave stuff too much to the last minute, and as always, I'm available if you need anything. :)

Yeah, feel free to submit slightly late. :)

Thanks to everybody else who has already submitted, we should have a tracklist out in a week or two. ^_^

Thank you to everybody who submitted! A full trackl listing can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... edit#gid=0

To those who made it, congratulations! And to everybody who didn't make it, we still very much appreciated your interest in the project. :)

We hope everybody is looking forward to the release regardless!

The album will be released with a stream on the Ponyville FM radio station, hosted by Lycan and an unconfirmed co-host.
The release stream will occur when this countdown timer reaches 0: http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/ge ... t=sanserif
You can also use this timezone converter to help determine when this is in your timezone: http://www.worldtimebuddy.com/?qm=1&lid ... 0&sln=7-11

We're also trying something a little different for this release, partnering up with EDM pony music channel Cider Party (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4HtP1 ... Y5bmmMvuFg), by allowing them to release a few of the tracks on the album early to raise hype.
As a part of this, the album be available early for paid pre-order (though, as always, once the album is out it will revert to the usual free/donation-based system.
