Escape Reality.: Bring The Fire [ON HOLD]

Postby Ricky Denzel » 21 Apr 2015 10:10

I am proud to announce a new project. It is called

ESCAPE REALITY.:BRING THE FIRE!

What is this about?
This is a compilation album inspired by the styles of Pinkamena Party and Rainbow & Rooted. This theme is loosely based by fire. It doesn't have to be about, but if you want you can do it. I'm looking for anything hard or fast paced, like core& bass/crossbreed or something like that. It doesn't generally have to be just EDM, people. It could be rap or rock. As long it goes hard.

Judges:
-Ricky Denzel
-Intorrek Sound
-
-
-

Blank spots reserved to the first 4 who want to be part of Team ES (who will also be judges. Just shoot me an email via ES email address in the specifications area)

This album is still in the works, so feel free to put out ideas and discuss the album in general. It's still in the stages of getting some people together for ES and the album.

It's a project I've been thinking about for about two years now, but never really got around to doing that because I've had that feeling that no one will wanna participate. It's for those who really just wanna have fun making music and have no one telling us what to do with our music all the time. The first ES project will be aorta like a tribute to R&R and PP.

Sup. I've already made a song but didn't really officially release it anywhere save for the toastbeard compo. Long story short, it's trap, its got speakonia, and it's about fucking rarity (Explicit). Interested?

Rules about this.
-NSFW submissions are ENCOURAGED.
-All submissions must be under 15 minutes long unless you're making one of those crazy endless mashcore things.
-All submissions must be some degree of obnoxious/incredibly loud.
-All submissions must be LOSSLESS (WAV preferred, AIFF or FLAC too) and sent to [email protected] or via submission form: http://goo.gl/forms/Uu4tpSOEVH
-All submissions must NOT be posted in public when done; work-in-progresses and teasers are accepted and encouraged
(copied from PP 4 3.5 thread because got lazy)

Excuse me, but this is really rude. You're basically making a copy of the new Pinkamena Party and encouraging people submit to yours instead of ours.

Can you be a bit more original? This isn't exactly friendly.

Okay, then. I'll change it. Maybe I'll get less people that way and all this for nothing like always (sarcasm)

JK, bud. I'll get on it now

Just to be clear, my main issue is that this is basically a Pinkamena Party knockoff (you even plagiarized our jokes and said you were too lazy to come up with your own). I am happy that more people want to make hardcore etc. compilations and all, but you have to have a very, very different angle if you're to be taken seriously as more than a cheap knockoff of PP. Also, self-depreciation doesn't help at all, either, just as a heads up.

Thanks for understanding, though.

By the way, after the edits, it still is way too similar and has no original differences, except for the "fire" thing, but that's really vague.

*screaming off-screen* Damn it, Craig! I told you we should had went with something else

On a serious note, what should I do?

Come up with an actual theme and a more directed focus on sound...don't reference existing MLR-related projects in the post...think of your project as a completely separate entity from anything else on MLR and make it seem like it's filling some new niche that isn't filled well enough or at all, which it totally could be...those are good starters.

Arguably, we could use more uk hardcore/happy hardcore/makina/electro-hardcore sort of projects. It's kind of the medium between BP and PP ranges of genre and I know people make the stuff. I dunno.

Have you ever considered trying to learn how to do a compilation from someone who has run a successful compilation (like hoover) before you start a compilation? I really don't mean to be rude but honestly if you'd have talked to Hoover before putting this up you'd be having none of the problems you're having right now, and you'd also have someone to consult with.

It's just that from my perspective you've tried the same approach multiple times with little success.

I tried but no one wants to be in anything I put up. No matter the originality. I tried many times, but they won't come.

If I were you I'd try spend more time trying to get at least 4-5 people to be participating before you actually announce anything, so no matter what you've got a buffer of stuff to release come due date.

But it's inspired by Pinkamena Party. What's the difference, though. I don't see it.

You're missing my point a little here. It's not about what the album is inspired but or paying tribute to or whatever, my point is that for one, if there are already some names in the participants list when you announce an event people would feel like they're taking on less pressure by joining up, secondly people will feel more comfortable joining up knowing that there would be a compilation anyway. If you wanna know how I know that, Humble Wishes was organized like that, Pyre went around to get a few people (including me) on board with the idea about 1 or 2 weeks before he actually announced it. It was his first time organizing a compilation, and it went off pretty much fine with 21 submissions.

My point is that if you put in some time preparing things you'll have a better chance at success.
