Hey guys,

Ponies at Dawn have previously released four albums - three of original content and most recently one with remixes of songs from the first three - and are now proud to announce that we are now open for submissions for our fifth album - Celestial Planes.

In the past our albums have included music from awesome artists such as Replacer and Feather’s Waltz for the Night, LutariFan’s Shine Ever Brighter, EnsionD and Evdog’s Open Skies, and Exiark’s remix of ExplodingPonyToast’s Borderline in our compilations just to name a few. We look forward to releasing another awesome compilation album with new tracks from you guys for everybody to enjoy.

This time around, any money made by the album from donations on BandCamp will go towards the artists whose tracks make the album, as thanks for the hard work put into making the album a reality.

Submissions Form: http://goo.gl/forms/6Qnvo2Cfr8

Submissions Due: April 13th (contact us if you need a day or two’s extension)

For more information, make sure to check out our info document: http://goo.gl/1Z6mF1

We have a Skype group for general discussion as well as a group specifically for talking about music and providing feedback to each other. To be added to one or both of these Skype groups just send a Skype contact request to alexander.ashenden or arofire and make sure to include something about wanting to join the group in your contact request.

Thanks, The Ponies at Dawn Team (Arofire, Camsy, ExplodingPonyToast, TheTimberWolffe)

As before I'll see if I get something to submit. Let's not submit an unfinished track in a fit of panic :P

Can someone bring me up to speed on what Ponies at Dawn is all about? Or should I go back and read the threads for the previous albums?
Notebook Memories, the debut album from yours truly, is currently up on my bandcamp for free. Any feedback, encouragement, hate mail, etc. is highly appreciated! Even just listening is pretty cool of you tbh.

Cool to see you're interested Liteheuz!

Sure Stuntddude! We started out as a primarily Australian-based group creating compilation albums in order to raise money to bring some Australian musicians to PonyCon and through that we were able to help various people in their travels. But more recently we've branched out a lot in terms of people taking part and now that there's a smaller percentage of Australians, the money we raise will go towards the people who get onto the albums who want some, as a more even distribution compared to restricting it to specific people. So basically we're about creating awesome compilations of great music, similar to Balloon Party but obviously not as big and without a massive goal of bringing bronies to conventions. :)

Sure! Dark-feeling music is fine, but try not to include anything too mature as in the end we do want this album to be accessible to people of all ages. :)

I was going for a broken sample feeling like Doompy Poomp. It's not finished, but It need a little work. Does it?

Nah it's definitely not too late to join! The last day for sending in submissions is April 13th so there's plenty of time. :)

Ricky, I like some of the stuff in your track but I feel like bits of it could work a little better together, the drums feel kinda off at times and the main backing sample doesn't always fit with everything else happening there. 1:02 to 1:28 is the kinda thing you're going for that works pretty well, but when the guitar sound comes in around the start it doesn't fit with the backing stuff so much. Overall though if you plan on working a lot more on it, it's a pretty good base to work with. :)

Hey all! Just a reminder that it's one month down and two months to go before we stop accepting submissions (well, almost). ^_^ If anybody wants to talk to other people taking part in this or give/receive feedback on things, feel free to add me on skype at alexander.ashenden and I can add you to our skype group.

We've already got some cool entries, and have got plenty of new people on board this time so looking forward to seeing what else comes in over the next month or too. :)

I won't be able to finish. I'm sorry, bro. I really wanted to be a part of this. Plus, I don't think Janet Jackson would be pleased if I did a remix of "Let's Wait A While" and submitted it

That's alright! If you don't have time over the next month or so to send something in, don't worry about - you can always try next time! ^_^ And yeah, probably best not to do something like that ;P

So, would a song that's kind of a show song remix (but kind of not) be an acceptable submission?

I would tend towards saying no, but that really depends what you mean by kind of. Feel free to PM me if you want to explain in more detail what you're thinking of doing (or just say here, either works).
