Official Discussion Thread (Ghost Edit)

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

I believe I made like €2 off my music.
Well, ~€200 if you include the music I sold for the CCL's fundraiser :P

I have literally no opinion about that.

Howard Stern? Mainstream freak...
Tell the guy at work that he's got issues. Listening to someone on the television is like listening to hicks for advice on city driving.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with being mainstream cultured. It's just when you believe everything someone says just because he is famous or because it comes from the internet or is on tv.
I didn't however argue for or against bronies because I really don't want to draw too much attention to it. I don't want him to think I am actually obsessed with ponies, I want him to think that bronies are pretty casual. Which most of us are.

Pretty sure I haven't. I've done some standard drum set ups, md421's on toms, akg pencils for overheads, d112 for kick, sm57's for pretty much everything ever (snares in this case).

So what do you mean by trash mic?

Silly Acsii. Mice is plural. I'm sure what you meant to write was "ever used trash mice :P?"

But yeah, I put a crapy vocal mic infront of my kit once... and i tried using the built in laptop mic :3 that shit distorted... a lot...
the vocal mic worked pretty ok though, atleast for what I was recording. I would never use that as the only drum track, but I layered it with some glitch drumms and it was pretty cool.

My current setup isn't the best either. I hang my Samson G track over the kit... I don't wanna buy drum mics before I know I'll ever use them. Maybe next year...

Yeah. They state that it's possible to use 32-bit plugins in the 64-bit version and 64-bit plugins in the 32-bit version because of a "bit bridge" that they've created. Doesn't require you to set anything up, as I'm assuming you guessed. It only has a slight impact on CPU usage, but otherwise you shouldn't have problems with crossing bit plugins with bit versions.

I always layer the trash mics with the rest of kit and have them running though my old ROSS preamps for distortion. All mixed it gives a really cool lofi sound. Which may come from the fact that I dont gate.

The only worthwhile things you really get from the "signature bundle" are sytrus and maximus, though.
Notebook Memories, the debut album from yours truly, is currently up on my bandcamp for free. Any feedback, encouragement, hate mail, etc. is highly appreciated! Even just listening is pretty cool of you tbh.

Sytrus is worthwhile. Very worthwhile.

Probably not gonna upgrade though. I'm fine with using FL10 and the occasional FL11 on 32bit. I manage.

I would have never thought that I would create a popular thread in a forum before. Is this currently the largest thread (that is not locked or deleted)?
Also, it did end up taking about half a year for this thread to kick off.

It's more like filtered spam really. To be honest, the spam thread was mostly a discussion thread and people hated when you spam a bunch of :3s in it. Which is why I made this thread. For those same discussions but without the real spam.

In other news, I just saw an episode of American Dad in which Steve called his deer son Applejack.
