wow someone actually agrees with me abt brave new world

idk i just thought it was more likely for the world dystopia population or whatever to steer themselves into the rather bleak future rather than oppressive tyranny simply taking hold; even now our humans are becoming increasingly hedonistic, at i daresay a faster rate than the levels of oppression, though as a first world constituent what the hell do i know

1984 is one of the most challenged books in the school board.
Apparently parents and random people don't think that young adults should be reading it because it's too much for people my age.

It's about a dystopian society where the government controls everything.

My entire senior class is playing a game where we follow the strict rules of the dystopian society. There are secret police that nobody knows who it is that report people for breaking rules.

It's going to be an interesting 2 days.

Wow... You know... I expected social experiments like that to be banned after some teacher was close to accidently turning his school into some sort of neo nazi cult while doing one of those experiments :I

Also, I liked that book. It didn't waste to much space on booring stuff like describing the specific hue of green every leaf on a tree has, like alot of books do.

So for US History we have to write a children's book on our Civil War.

...lovely I know.

But we have to cover an event called Bleeding Kansas. Here's how my version goes.

The North and the South come across a can of sauce. Both discover it at the same time. So they decide to share, because why not. But then the North accuses the South of taking too much sauce, and so they fight and go at each other, but before it turns into a fistfight, the can of sauce breaks.

To which somebody screams, "It's bleeding!"

So now we have a bleeding can of sauce.
Bleeding Kansas.
Bleeding Can of Sauce.

...yup.
Colorkek that makes computer noises.

What's my main genre? All of them.

Literally just some default massive presets marked with "bell" at low octaves. Maybe some reverb here and there. The first one I recorded then reversed it and layered it over to make it more intresting.

I have an Orange amp. As for amps that work for both... not really... unless you have 2 different cabs and even then it wouldn't work as well as 2 amps. And I never actually said what my amp was XD

If you're still using FL Studio, Facade, DX10 is pretty good for synthbells. I don't remember exactly how, but I think if you just mess with the coarse pitch and envelopes it'll sound bell-ish

making a basic bell is just a sinewave(or other wavetables with low amount of harmonics) with short attack, short decay, moderately short sustain, and a bit of release. To make it more intresting you can make the filter fuck about on the sustain with a lfo or whatever. I dont see why you need to flap about with the coarse pitch, dont really see how that would reinforce a bell, but hey, might be cool, havent done much with that.

Anyways, I went back and found what presets I used.first one was Artic bells. second one Underwater bells.

I'm talking about the coarse pitch of the modulators. Changing that will effect the frequency modulation of the carrier and introduce more harmonics. So yeah it can kinda reinforce a bell, I just brought it up because I've used it to make bell sounds before.

When a linear object like a string (violin) or a column of air (trumpet) vibrates, its harmonics are all whole number ratios of the fundamental, because the geometry of a linear object constrains them to waves within two nodes that force a silently low pressure. With two dimensional objects like drum heads, or the sheets of metal that shape a bell, however, the geometry of the object gives a menagerie of nodes, which all have a variety of pressure tolerances. This means that the harmonic ratios are, well, irrational. Without proper tuning, you can get a sound that is entirely atonal (cymbal), because the chaotic nodes usually suppress the fundamental, and all that's left is the irrational harmonics, but with tuning to get rid of the nodes that suppress the fundamental, you can get a sound that is tonal, but with a vaguely untuned tonal quality (bells).

Frequency modulation introduces irrational harmonics to synth oscillators in much the same way as a two dimensional geometry, especially if your modulator frequency is set to a frequency that is not a whole number ratio of the carrier. At two modulators, you can usually get some very bell-like sounds. In a way, you can think of the modulators as the nodes on a vibrating object. If you keep them low, it's like tuning a drum; they don't drown out the fundamental, so even with the irrational harmonics they produce, it still sounds in tune. You can use a snappy envelope as well, to simulate the sound of striking the bell. Alternately, you can drive the modulators up a bunch to get really atonal, percussive sounds.

Don't bother with making them sound like actual percussion instruments, though. Unless you have a knack for the Calculus in three dimensions, then you can probably figure it out.

ur horns are pretty tinny m808

i should do a jingle bells remix too it'd sound super nice as a juke/chicago footwork track aka fav genre

or maybe a jungle remix bc "jungle bells" and incorporate calculus of the third dimension with a healthy dose of topology for good measure

or maybe i should just mash it up with death grips yeah

It was a once-a-week seminar I took at uni that through some kind of black magic filled both my science and art pre-reqs. It was called The Physics of Music. Mostly we studied one-dimensional vibrating objects. The section on two dimensional objects amounted to, "This material is advanced enough to require more maths than most of you can even, so it's outside the scope of this class." It was cool, though. The projects for the class were constructing unique string and wind instruments, then forming groups, and performing with one or both of our instruments. I don't recall how my string instrument worked, but my wind instrument was a slide didgeridoo.

I think they only offered it every other semester.

I was hoping the cource had a slightly more descriptive name so I couldn maybe look for an equivalent cource in my college (I think it's college... or university... or maybe those two are the same). There are a few music related classes, and a lot of audio related classes, music technology, musical acoustics, speach music and hearing, and a few more. I'm guessing musical technology is the closest. I'll likley take both that one and music acoustics though, cause fun. I've got another year or two left till I can chose them thouh. For now I'm buissy enough with my math...
